Frequently Asked Questions

 

Since there's always questions out there--most have answers.  FAQ's and answers can be found right here.  If you have questions, please read this section first before emailing.  Some (if not all) of the answers will be found right here.  If you do not see an answer to your question, please feel free to email us at:  WCGG@cox.net
 

1.)  I can only attend one day, do I still have to pay the full registration fee or is it discounted?
A.)  The full registration fee covers all 3 days of the event whether you attend one, two or all three days.  The mini registration fee only covers Friday OR Saturday.  The registration fees cover many different things such as insurance for the whole event, permits, park fees and other tangible items needed to run the event overall.  Once paid, all registration fee's are considered as a donation and will not be refunded.

2.)  I registered but now I'm unable to attend.  Can I get a refund?
A.)  No.  Once paid, all registration fee's are considered as a donation and will not be refunded.

3.)  Since I'm a vendor, do I still have to register as an individual, too?
A.)  No.  The vendor fees will cover the rental of the facilities used by vendors and your individual registration as well.

4.)  I didn't register but I'd still like to come.  Will I get a goodie bag and be able to attend some of the activities listed?
A.)  Unfortunately, if you do not register, you will not get a goodie bag nor will you be able to attend some of the activities listed.  Allowing non registered people to attend the same activities that registered people have paid for is not fair.  ALL registered people MUST wear their current name tags to enter into some of the activities.

5.)  I paid by PayPal but I never received a confirmation of registration other than my PayPal receipt.  Should I contact someone to confirm my registration?
A.)  Yes, by all means if you have NOT received a confirmation email within 15 business days of registering by PayPal, please email  WCGG@cox.net

6.)  I paid by personal check but I never received a confirmation of registration other than my cancelled check as receipt.  Should I contact someone to confirm my registration?
A.)  Yes, by all means if you have NOT received a confirmation email within 15 business days of registering, please email WCGG@cox.net

7.)  I prepaid for some advance purchase items, when will I receive them?
A.)  ALL pre-purchased items and registration items will be mailed to you with your registration packet.

8.)  I registered late (OR) I will be arriving after 12 noon Friday.  Where do I go to pick up my goodie bag?
A.) Go to the Information Booth located in Solvang Park at the corner of 1st Street and Mission Drive and see if any goodie bags are left.  You will have to show your name tag in order to get a goodie bag.  Registering late does not guarantee you will be able to receive a goodie bag.

9.)  I'm a vendor.  What times will I be able to vend?
A.)  Please read our VENDOR INFORMATION page.  It will have all of the important information you need to know such as vending times, etc.

10.)  I want to vend out of my room.  Can I?
A.)  Unfortunately, no, you may not vend out of your room.  Since the sale of the Royal Scandinavian Inn, we have moved all vendors to the Veteran's Memorial Hall so it will be one stop shopping for all.

11.)  Will my dog be allowed to go everywhere (ie: businesses, etc.)?
A.)  Not all businesses in and around Solvang will be allowing dogs per their policies.  Please respect them and ask first before entering.  You can also look to see if there is a sign posted in the business window stating *Greyhounds Welcome* or *No dogs please*.

12.)  Do I need to be present at the raffle drawings?
A.)  No, you do not need to be present to win.  However, if you purchase raffle tickets, please make sure your name and how to contact you is legible.  A good suggestion is to place a return mailing label on each raffle ticket your purchase.

 

13.)  Will there be a veterinarian at the gathering for emergencies?

A.) The gathering committee always tries to have a veterinarian on call for emergency reasons.  On call veterinarian information will be included in your registration packet.

 

14.)  Will there be someone to watch my hound while I attend some of the activities such as the buffet dinner?

A.)  You can ask on the West Coast Greyhound Gathering List if someone is interested in watching your hound during that time.  There are a few people on the list who offer those services.  Please note that the organizing committee and the West Coast Greyhound Gathering are not responsible for any arrangements made for dog sitting between individual parties.
